Privacy policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how baristafix.com ("baristafix", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you visit the site or subscribe to our newsletter. We've written it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email privacy@baristafix.com.
Who is responsible for your data
baristafix.com is the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy request or question, contact privacy@baristafix.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your email address. When you email us, we receive your message and contact details.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, when you visit we and our service providers automatically receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure, understand aggregate usage, and serve advertising.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and we don't ask you for more than we need.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
- Essential — needed for the site to work and stay secure.
- Analytics — to understand, in aggregate, which guides help people, so we can improve them.
- Advertising — our advertising partners (see below) use cookies to measure and, where permitted, personalise ads.
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
Advertising
baristafix is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of personalised ads from participating vendors at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. In the EEA/UK, ads are only personalised with your consent.
Newsletter
Our newsletter is delivered using sender.net, which processes your email address on our behalf to send the emails you've asked for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We rely on your consent to send marketing emails.
Service providers we use
- Google — advertising (AdSense) and, where enabled, analytics.
- Amazon and other affiliate networks — when you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set cookies to attribute any purchase. See our affiliate disclosure.
- sender.net — newsletter delivery.
- Our hosting provider — serves the site and keeps short-lived server logs for security and reliability.
These providers process data under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide their service.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: your consent (newsletter and non-essential cookies, including personalised ads); our legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and understanding aggregate usage); and legal obligation where applicable.
Your rights
EEA/UK (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money; however, the use of advertising cookies may be considered "sharing" under California law. You can opt out using the advertising controls above and via a Global Privacy Control signal where supported. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right, email privacy@baristafix.com.
Data retention
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Technical and analytics data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted or anonymised.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the providers' lawful transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice.
